Unit installation

  1. Check unit for transport damage.
  2. Prepare installation site for duct, wall or foot mounting: Lay duct. For wall installation, make sure there is a level support surface.
  3. Lay a permitted power cable to the installation site. Use a connection cable suited to the unit type.
  4. Risk of cuts from metal housing plates with sharp edges.

    1. Wear personal protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves) for installation.
  5. Transport the unit to the installation site. Note safety instructions and data in the previous chapter.
  6. Risk of explosion/risk of injury due to incorrectly mounted or falling unit.

    1. Only mount on walls/ducts with sufficient load-bearing capacity and sufficiently dimensioned mounting material.
    2. Mounting material is to be provided by the customer.
    3. During installation, do not allow people to stand under the installation location.
  7. To avoid sound bridges to the building structure, observe the distances to other façade components. If necessary, use isolating elements.
  8. If mounting with FUI mounting foot: Attach the matching mounting foot to the unit housing with the self-tapping screws provided (do not attach the screws near the impeller). Any installation position can be selected. Make sure that there is free access to the terminal box at the installation site.
  9. Install the unit and screw it tightly to the wall or duct or a suitable solid base at all flange holes (4 pieces). Mounting material of sufficient size should be provided by the customer. Note rotation direction and air flow direction air direction arrows on unit sticker.
  10. Risk of explosion when operating without protective device, should foreign bodies fall or be drawn into the air duct.

Risk of death due to spark formation.

    1. Be sure to fit any free air inlet/outlet with a protective device that meets the requirements of EN 13857 and is suitable for Ex areas, e.g. with MAICO protective grille SG..Ex (IP 20 degree of protection according to EN 60529). When using non-Maico products, an ignition hazard assessment must be carried out.
  11. If the air inlet or outlet is not covered, mount a permitted protective grille, e.g., MAICO protective grille SG.. in front of the unit.
  12. Ensure a sufficient supply air intake.
  13. Fit suitable insulation, sound-absorbing and installation materials.
