Preparation for installation
- Risk of cuts from metal housing plates with sharp edges. Use personal protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves) for installation work.

- Ensure that the two ring nuts and two lock nuts are securely screwed down to the fan’s weather protection hood.
- Secure suitable lifting gear to the two ring nuts, use the crane to transport the DRD to the installation site and carefully lower it onto the roof. Observe the details in Transport, storage and the safety instructions supplement.
- When mounting without a roof socket, mark the 4 mounting holes on the roof (→ positions [X]), drill holes and insert suitable dowels.
When mounting with a roof socket, mount the roof socket. NOTICE: Only use a roof socket from the Maico range that is suitable for the fan motor base and the DRD variant → www.maico-ventilatoren.com. - If necessary, install additional accessories, e.g. the MRI mounting frame, the SDI socket sound absorber or a socket sound absorber for use with the SDVI shutter.
