Fault rectification
Unit may be energized even when at a standstill and may switch on automatically due to sensors (time delay, humidity etc.).
Risk of burning in the area of the motor
- Before working on the fan, switch off the mains fuse and secure with a padlock.
- Attach a warning sign in a clearly visible place.
- Let the fan cool down sufficiently before working in the area of the motor.
Malfunction | Cause, measures |
---|---|
Fan does not switch on/does not run. | No mains voltage, earth fault. Check whether the power supply is guaranteed (mains fuse, switch, motor connection). Wiring not carried out correctly. Check wiring circuit diagram. |
Thermal overload protection of the motor has triggered. | Motor too hot. EZQ../EZS..: No measure. After it has cooled off, the motor automatically switches on. DZQ../DZS..: Leave fan off until the motor and temperature limiter have cooled down (up to 30 minutes). Only then switch it back on. |
The impeller is blocked or dirty. | Remove foreign objects or dirt. |
Winding short | Replace fan. |
Air flows in wrong direction (motor turns wrong direction). | Check wiring circuit diagram. Reverse polarity if necessary. |
EZQ.. B/EZS.. B units: Fan doesn’t start up or motor too hot. | Capacitor not installed/incorrectly installed Connect the capacitor correctly. |
EZQ.. B/EZS.. B units: Slight contact with the stationary impeller may cause the fan to start. | Capacitor not installed/incorrectly installed Connect the capacitor correctly. |
EZQ.. B/EZS.. B units: Motor with wrong direction of rotation/air flow direction | Capacitor not installed/incorrectly installed Connect the capacitor correctly. |
