Installation of wall sleeve
Risk of injury if a wall sleeve or external/internal cover come loose. Only mount on walls with sufficient load-bearing capacity. The wall sleeve must be firmly plastered in. With PP 45 AKR / PP 45 AKB, ensure secure locking in the sleeve.
ATTENTION: Unit damage and damage to brickwork caused by condensate in the event of incorrect installation where condensate runs towards the interior wall if the core hole is drilled at too slight an incline. Mount wall sleeve with an incline of 1...2 % to the exterior wall so that any condensation which collects can drain outwards. Observe the wall sleeve projection towards the exterior wall!
Attention with the fixing holes with optional MS 160 masonry block or PP 45 RS shell kit: PP 45 internal and external covers are fixed in the masonry block (EPS), PPB 30 internal and external covers outside the masonry block in the wall. Use suitable mounting material that matches the respective substrate.
- Determine installation location(s). Observe installation dimensions and minimum spacing to the wall and ceiling. Fit empty duct/cable feedthrough.
- Drill core hole. Observe inclines of 1 to 2 % towards the exterior wall.
- Shorten wall sleeve. Observe the wall sleeve projection towards the exterior wall! Specifications for internal and exterior wall fully plastered.
- Deburr wall sleeve on both sides.
- Place wall sleeve in core drill hole such that it protrudes beyond the exterior wall. Observe the wall sleeve projection towards the exterior wall!
- Close off wall sleeve on both sides with the plaster protective covers provided.
- For a DN 162 core hole, fix the wall sleeve with mounting adhesive in the core hole.
- For a DN 182 core hole, align wall sleeve and fix on inside and outside with shims provided.
Exercise caution when handling construction foam.
Wear protective gloves and goggles.
- For a DN 182 core hole, fix the wall sleeve and shim with non-compressing or zero-expansion construction foam. Cut off protruding construction foam and shims flush with the wall.
- If walls have a wooden construction, additionally seal the interfaces to this construction. Stick sealing strips to the wall sleeve in these areas. Suitable sealing material is to be provided by the customer.
