General safety instructions
- Read these safety instructions in full. Before installation, also read the enclosed shell installation instructions and/or final installation instructions and the installation and commissioning instructions available online. For detailed information on operation and settings → Operating instructions on the Internet. Follow the instructions.
- Use the ventilation unit only as intended → above-mentioned instructions.
- Have the ventilation unit installed, adjusted, commissioned, cleaned, maintained or repaired by qualified personnel only → Qualified personnel can carry out this work safely, recognise dangers and avoid them.
- Personal protective equipment: Use personal protective equipment (protective clothing, hard hat, protective goggles, etc.) for your own protection in the event of possible hazards. Pay attention to the applicable safety and accident prevention regulations.
- Safety devices are designed for your safety. Never bypass or tamper with the safety devices.
DANGER
- Do not deposit combustible materials, liquids or gases near the ventilation unit → In case of ignition or fire, hazardous substances may enter the rooms through the ventilation system.
- Ventilation units must not be installed if there are air-ventilated fireplaces in the housing unit that are connected to exhaust gas systems, which themselves have multiple connections. → Danger to life due to transfer of waste gases (carbon monoxide) to other residential units.
- Never operate the ventilation unit in an explosive atmosphere or in combination with a lab extraction unit → Risk of explosion due to explosive gases and dusts.
- In the case of subsequent additions or modifications (range hood, air-ventilated fireplace, etc.), have the system compatibility of the ventilation system determined/ensured by a planning office → Risk of injury and risk to health in the event of improper operation. If using an exhaust air range hood or air-ventilated fireplace, this must be accepted by a regional master chimney sweep.
- Risk of suffocation when handling packaging materials. Keep foil materials and small parts away from children.
WARNING
- Install the ventilation unit only in accordance with the planning specifications → Improper operation with incorrect or improperly installed ventilation unit.
- Note the insulation of the ventilation channels.
- Note the sound absorption.
- Never use the ventilation unit to convey chemicals or aggressive gases/vapours → Risk to health if these substances are spread throughout the rooms.
- Before removing the front cover and installing the electrics, switch off all supply circuits and secure them against being accidentally switched back on. Position a visible warning sign.
- Modifications and alterations to the unit are not permitted and release the manufacturer from any guarantee and liability.
- Never install wall sleeve/external cover above entrance areas that are not covered → Risk of injury from falling icicles should ice form.
NOTICE
- Never operate the ventilation unit during the build phase → Damage to unit caused by contamination of the ventilation unit.
- Never use the ventilation unit with range hoods with exhaust air mode on → Grease and oil vapours contaminate the ventilation unit and ventilation ducts and can reduce efficiency. In exhaust air rooms with greasy air (kitchens) only use ventilation valves with grease filters. In terms of energy consumption, use range hoods in circulating air mode.
- Never install the controls (RLS 45 O, DS 45 RC) outdoors and only install them outside of protection zones 0, 1 and 2 → Damage to unit caused by moisture ingress.
- The ventilation unit has an IP 00 (PP 45) or IP X4 (PPB 30) degree of protection. Protect it from humidity and moisture → Damage to unit caused by moisture ingress. Never install the ventilation unit outdoors and only outside protection zones as follows:
• PP 45 outside protection zones 0, 1 and 2
• PPB 30 O, PPB 30 K outside protection zone 0
• PPB 30 RC outside protection zones 0 and 1 - PP 45 ventilation units are only suitable for supply air rooms. Do not install them in bathrooms, kitchens, WCs or similar rooms.
- Preferably, install the PPB 30 ventilation units in exhaust air rooms (bathroom, WC or kitchen with windows). Only install ventilation units in supply air rooms (bedrooms etc.) after agreement with the owners. The continuous, very quiet change of direction of rotation could be perceived as disturbing. If necessary, use sleep mode with ventilation level 0.
