Transport, storage
Transport
WARNING: Depending on the type, the centrifugal blower can be very heavy (> 130 kg).
Only transport heavy units to the installation site with an appropriate lifting device/lifting equipment. Observe the safety instructions supplement for centrifugal blowers.
NOTICE: During transport, ensure that the impeller is not knocked. The impeller is locked into position on the shaft ex factory. Before transporting, check that the locking screw is tight. Ensure that the impeller can rotate freely around its axis during transport and that there are no foreign bodies hampering movement.
Storage
- Only store centrifugal blowers in a dry location and in a horizontal position (at -20 °C to +60 °C). Avoid storage periods that are too long.
- Protect the blower from impact that could damage it.
- Do not store blower in an environment containing corrosive substances.
- Avoid the impeller remaining idle for long periods (both in storage and when already installed). During idle periods, regularly turn the impeller by hand and check that it can move freely to prevent damage to the bearings. Failure to comply with these requirements releases the manufacturer from all guarantees and liability.
- Before installation, check that the moving parts (impeller, shutters) can move freely.
- Do not store the blower in the vicinity of running and vibrating machinery. This would expose the impeller bearings to excessive strain, which could result in imbalance during operation.
- If stored for lengthy periods, protect the blower from dust, moisture and sunlight.
