Installation information
- Only use slide-in module in wall sleeve with appropriate incline to the exterior wall → Shell installation instructions.
- The slide-in unit (slide-in module + extension duct) must be appropriate for the wall thickness, to avoid a ventilation short-circuit (lack of air). To ensure this, shorten the extension duct accurately.
- With wall thicknesses of 500-790 mm, use the optional PPB 30 VS extension kit. When installing, use the centring ring provided for the extension.
- Only mount internal cover on flat surfaces and without any distortion.
- The appropriate mounting material must be supplied on site.
- For prescribed connection lines → Connection and wiring diagrams:
• Grid connection and 230 V input: Type NYM-J 5G1, 5 mm²
• Control cables: type J-YSTY, 0.8 mm, 4 wires. Max. 25 m from star point, up to star point max. 4 m - Imbalance may arise if the maximum stated cable lengths are exceeded. Observe installation requirements relating to cable lengths and types.
- The ventilation units may only be operated using the voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate. For rating plate, see RLS 45 O or RLS 45 K control or PPB 30 RC ventilation unit. Operating voltage for PPB 30 O / PPB 30 K units = 12 V DC.
- Units/controls not suited for outdoor use. Protect ventilation units/controls from moisture and wetness.
• Use RLS/DS controls only outside protection zones 0, 1 and 2.
• Use PP 45 ventilation units only outside protection zones 0, 1 and 2.
• Use PPB 30 O PPB 30 K ventilation units only outside of protection zone 0.
• Use PPB 30 RC ventilation units only outside of protection zones 0 and 1.
- PPB 30 O units are connected directly to the fan interface (Fan1/Fan2) of the RLS 45 O or RLS 45 K control. For electrical connection → Connection diagram.
- PPB 30 K units are connected to the RS 485 bus of the RLS 45 K control. If using several PPB 30 K on an RLS 45 K, the PPB 30 K units should be addressed using the DIP switches on the board (address 0 = unit 1, address 1 = unit 2, address 3 = unit 3). For electrical connection and position of the DIP switches → Connection and wiring diagrams.
- PPB 30 RC units are connected to 230V/50Hz (for electrical connection → Connection and wiring diagrams.) The control is carried out with DS 45 RC radio control.
- The two connecting cables of the PPB 30 fans (in the slide-in module) are already fully wired (8-pin, coded connector plug to avoid mixing up the sockets). They are connected to the circuit board in the ventilation unit.
- RLS room air control with plug-in connection terminals for ventilation unit connecting cables. Connection terminals can be taken off for wiring.
- When using the sensor-based automatic dehumidification function, exhaust air mode runs until the humidity falls 3% below the maximum humidity value limit. Volumetric flow compensation with other PushPull units is undertaken.
- Manually switched exhaust air mode or manually switched intensive ventilation is possible on PPB 30 K units with a button or switch (provided by the customer). When using the switch, the start delay can be set. The specialist installer can set parameters for the duration of the manually switched functions and the start delay using the commissioning software. Volumetric flow compensation is undertaken with the other PushPull units on the fan interface.
- Manually switched exhaust air mode or intensive ventilation is possible on PPB 30 RC by means of DS 45 RC or a button (provided by the customer). The duration of the manually switched function can be parameterised by the specialist installer via the service mode.
- Exhaust air mode on a PPB30 O in combination with an RLS 45 O can be activated by pressing the “Ventilation level” button for more than 2 seconds. Exhaust air mode generally lasts 10 minutes.
- Exhaust air mode is only possible with a PPB 30 unit type and when 1 unit is used (setting in service menu). The measurements will be incorrect if the installation location of the control and external sensors is inappropriate. Avoid disturbing influences and direct sunlight.
- RLS 45 O / RLS 45 K with LEDs. For RLS 45 K, the brightness can be set and/or switched off using the commissioning software. If people are being disturbed by bright LEDs (in bedrooms, for example), choose a suitable installation location.
- Quiet changeover noises when the fans change direction of rotation. Do not install PPB 30 in bedrooms.
