General safety regulations
- Read these safety instructions in full. Before installation, also read the installation and operating instructions of the centrifugal blower at → www.maico-ventilatoren.com. Follow the instructions.
- Only use the centrifugal blower for its intended purpose, see the installation and operating instructions enclosed with the unit.
- Use personal protective equipment (protective clothing, hard hat, protective goggles, etc.) for your own protection in the event of possible hazards. Pay attention to the applicable safety and accident prevention regulations.
- Safety devices are designed for your safety. Never bypass or tamper with the safety devices.
- The operating company undertakes to only use the centrifugal blower when it is in perfect condition. Electrical equipment should be checked regularly. Loose connections should be re-secured, damaged lines or cables should be replaced immediately.
DANGER
- Do not deposit combustible materials, liquids or gases near the centrifugal blower → In case of ignition or fire, hazardous substances may enter the rooms with the ventilation.
- Never operate the centrifugal blower in an explosive atmosphere or in combination with a lab extraction unit → Risk of explosion due to explosive gases and dusts.
- In the case of subsequent additions or modifications (range hood, air-ventilated fireplace, etc.), have the system compatibility of the ventilation system determined/ensured by a planning office → Risk of injury and risk to health in the event of improper operation. If using an exhaust air range hood or air-ventilated fireplace, this must be accepted by a regional master chimney sweep.
- Risk of suffocation when handling packaging materials. Keep foil materials and small parts away from children.
WARNING
- Install the centrifugal blower in accordance with the planning specifications → Improper operation with incorrect or improperly installed centrifugal blower.
- When the centrifugal blower is running, be sure to keep a sufficient distance from the unit and do not insert any objects into the blower → Risk of injury due to the suction effect of the blower and the rotating impeller. Hair, clothing, jewellery etc. may be pulled into the centrifugal blower if you get too close to the unit.
- Note the insulation of connected ducts and ventilation channels.
- Provide for sound insulation measures for ducts and ventilation channels. Use tubular sound absorbers to reduce noise emissions or for acoustic insulation. Recommendation: Insulate the channels sufficiently to prevent diffusion.
- Never use the fan to convey chemicals or aggressive gases/vapours → Risk to health if these substances are spread throughout the rooms.
- Before removing covers and installing the electrics, switch off all supply circuits and secure them against being accidentally switched back on. Position a visible warning sign.
- Operate the centrifugal blower only with original components → Risk of injury and risk to health in case of modifications or conversions or if non-approved components are used. Changes and modifications are not permitted and release the manufacturer from any guarantee obligations and liability, e.g. if the housing is drilled at a point which is not permitted.
- Secure work areas against unauthorised entry, falling and falling objects → Risk of injury/equipment damage if the centrifugal blower or an object falls during installation, removal, cleaning, maintenance or repair. Pay attention to the applicable accident prevention regulations.
CAUTION
- Clean the centrifugal blower at regular intervals, especially after a longer period of standstill → Risk to health due to deposits on the unit (mould, germs, dust, etc.) after a longer period of standstill.
- Risk of cuts from metal housing plates with sharp edges. Use personal protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves) for installation work.
NOTICE
- Never operate the centrifugal blower during the construction phase. Centrifugal blower and ducting can become dirty and damage the blower.
- Only use the centrifugal blower at the permissible airstream temperature.
GRK: -20 … +50 °C
GRK R: -15 … +70 °C
GRM ES: -20 … +80 °C
GRM HT: +100 ... +150 °C - High noise emissions near the centrifugal blower. Observe sound power levels → rating plate and technical documents. When planning, take into account sound insulation at the installation site. Use additional visual warning signs to safeguard workplace areas.
- Install the centrifugal blower and accessories professionally and properly, otherwise improper/inadmissible operation may be caused. Protect the centrifugal blower, controls, sensors and ducts against foreign bodies being sucked in. In case of a free inlet, fit a protective grille suitable for the type (e.g., protective grille SGEI, SGAI, SGEI ES, SGAI ES or SGEI K). The centrifugal blower may be operated only if the protection against accidental contact with the impeller is guaranteed to be in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13857.
