The development and production of environmentally friendly products is in line with our understanding of sustainability. This is precisely why we feel obliged to implement the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) and contribute to the reuse and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
In Germany, the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU for waste electrical and electronic equipment was implemented with the Act on Making Products Available on the Market, return and environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). Manufacturers, distributors and importers who place electrical and electronic equipment on the German market are obliged to register with the ear foundation (ear = register of waste electrical equipment).
Maico Elektroapparate GmbH is registered with the ear foundation under the WEEE reg. no. DE 78107228 and labels all products placed on the market after 13 August 2006 with the crossed-out wheeled bin in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act.
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on electrical appliances indicates the obligation to dispose of them separately. Waste electrical equipment labelled as such must not be disposed of with household waste. As the end user, you are responsible for deleting personal data from the equipment to be disposed of prior to disposal.
To minimise waste, repair options for equipment should be examined and durable equipment should be purchased. Further information on waste prevention for consumers can be found, for example, in the waste prevention programme of the federal government with the participation of the federal states. If you have any questions, please contact our service department at info@maico.de.
Waste equipment and packaging contain valuable, recyclable materials. According to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and the WEEE Directive, these must not be disposed of in the domestic waste.
Dispose of waste equipment and packaging in an environmentally friendly manner via suitable collection systems in accordance with the regulations applicable in your country (in Germany at the collection centres of the public waste disposal authorities of your city, municipality or district).
In accordance with the Maico take-back concept, you can return large units (= large waste equipment) to Maico Elektroapparate-Fabrik GmbH free of charge so that we can dispose of the waste equipment in accordance with the law.
Large units are commercial or industrial fans, units with heat recovery or small units in non-commercial quantities.
Send large units to be disposed of to Maico Elektroapparate-Fabrik GmbH, Steinbeisstr. 20, 78056 Villingen-Schwenningen, with the heading Recycling.
Depending on the size and weight of the waste electrical equipment, you can use a parcel service or a forwarding agent of your choice to return it. Please label the units accordingly and indicate the sender properly.
The WEEE Directive has been implemented in the form of national laws in the EU countries. Electrical and electronic equipment may only be sold and advertised after registration.
Before disposing of waste electrical equipment, find out about the regulations applicable in your country.
